Basic Soul Unit (Stuart Li) has been involved in the Toronto Club Scene promoting and DJing several independent nights of various genres. He grew up in Toronto where the multi-cultural nature of the city exposed him to the sounds of dance music, from Hip Hop, Techno, to Jazz, Funk, Latin and Disco. Many of BSU�s teenage years were spent in after-hours parties during the prime of Toronto House music scene in the early 90�s. Naturally, House music has always had a special place in his heart. With an approach that is minimal both by design and by necessity, the sound reminiscent of early Chicago house and Detroit techno. Mid-tempo groove with a hypnotic electrosynth bassline that's both dark and real, real funky. This is music made in the now with the elements of today�s sounds rather than ode to back in the dayz.
